Leadership Initiatives for Transformation (LIT) was founded to respond to the urgent need for inclusive governance and peaceful transition across Africa. We believe sustainable change comes from within driven by citizens and local institutions who are closest to the challenges and opportunities of their societies.
We work to strengthen governance and inclusive development across Africa by supporting citizens, civil society, and institutions in countries in Africa. We partner with local actors to promote peaceful, participatory, and accountable systems that reflect the aspirations of African people for dignity, justice, and sustainable progress.
A peaceful, and prosperous Africa where inclusive governance empowers all citizens to shape their future and where societies thrive on the foundations of human rights, equity, and resilience.
We are committed to advancing participatory
democracy, human rights, and the rule of law as essential foundations for peaceful and just societies. We prioritize African voices and leadership in all our initiatives.
We support the agency of citizens, especially youth, women, and marginalized groups, to engage meaningfully in political life and decision-making.
The Advisory Board serves as a sounding board for new initiatives, offers specialized technical advice, and helps us remain grounded in the realities of the contexts in which we operate.
